WIC is still serving clients! However, in support of the guidelines for social distancing due to the COVID-19 situation, we are asking that you not come into our office. Call your clinic and ask what options you have. You may be able to:
- Do your appointment over the phone. We are happy to call you at your scheduled appointment time.
- Extend your certification period by 1 month if you were scheduled for a recertification (reapplying for benefits).
Our goal is to continue to serve WIC clients and keep families and WIC staff safe.
The Health District's WIC program serves thousands of clients at six Benton and Franklin County locations by providing quality nutrition services as the centerpiece of the nutrition program.
Local services are part of a federal program with an extraordinary record of preventing children's health problems and improving their health, growth, and development. WIC children enter school ready to learn and show better cognitive performance.
Services Include:
- Health screening
- Nutrition and health education
- Breastfeeding promotion and support
- Connecting with other services
- Free healthy foods from your grocery store and farmers markets
