Janae Parent,
has more than a decade of experience at the Health District, showcasing her background in finance and has demonstrated exceptional leadership during challenging periods. Before assuming the position of Interim District Administrator, she served as the Assistant Administrator. Her ability to navigate difficult situations has been instrumental in steering the Health District, showcasing her capability to lead effectively in demanding circumstances. Janae's unique leadership skills positions her to continue driving positive change and growth within the organization fostering teamwork.

Aren Giske,
MD, MOH, FACOEM is a physician leader with extensive medical director experience in two large matrix healthcare organizations and the newest addition to Benton-Franklin Health District as the Health Officer. As an expert in corporate problem solving, collaboration, and leading through uncertainty in a changing healthcare landscape, Dr. Giske’s professional interests lie in the intersection between public and occupational health, wellness, and the evolution of taking care of people. Residency trained and board certified in Occupational Medicine (with an additional master’s degree in occupational health), Dr. Giske is proud to be part of the team at BFHD caring for the health of our communities.

Heather Hill, BSN, RN has decades of experience in Public Health. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing form Walla Walla University. She has work as a Public Health Nurse for Benton-Franklin Health District since 1983.  The majority of her career has been overseeing all aspects of communicable disease and clinic services for the bi-county health district. She currently is the Deputy to the Health Officer and will be working closely with the Health Officer, Dr. Giske, to provide public health leadership to staff and the community.

, RN, BSN a dedicated advocate for community health in Kennewick, WA, brings over 23 years of experience as a Senior Manager of Community Health at the Benton-Franklin Health District. Her journey started as a Public Health Nurse, progressing through various leadership roles. Carla's achievements include supporting PHAB Accreditation for the district and active participation in state-level initiatives focusing on maternal, child, and family health, among others. Her contributions earned her accolades, such as the Excellence in Public Health Award. With a commitment to health equity and strong leadership, Carla remains a respected figure driving positive change in her cherished community.

With a strong background in Biology from Whitworth University, she's deeply rooted in the region for over 35 years. At BFHD, Erin excelled in Environmental Health Food Safety, later pioneering the School Environmental Health & Safety Program. Now, as Senior Manager for Surveillance & Investigation, she oversees critical public health initiatives, emphasizing her commitment to a healthier Tri-Cities community.
