Land and WaterWATER LABORATORY & NITRATE TESTING
We test water locally to help ensure it’s safe to drink, including checking for concerns like nitrates. Local testing means faster results, lower costs, and clear guidance for residents and water system operators.

SEPTIC SYSTEMS (OSS)
We permit, review, and inspect septic systems to make sure wastewater is safely treated and doesn’t contaminate groundwater. Our team helps guide homeowners through design, installation, and long-term maintenance.

TOXIC ALGAE
We monitor rivers and lakes for harmful algae that can make people and pets sick. Real-time updates, signage, and outreach help the community make safe decisions when recreating in local water.

School Safety
SCHOOL SAFETY
We inspect schools to identify health and safety risks like poor ventilation, unsafe chemical storage, and environmental hazards. This helps create safer learning environments for students and staff.

LEAD PREVENTION

We provide education and resources to reduce lead exposure from sources like older paint, soil, and water. Even small amounts can affect brain development, and early prevention is key to protecting children.

One Health
ONE HEALTH & DISEASE RESPONSE

We respond to diseases that spread between animals and people, like avian flu, by coordinating across human, animal, and environmental health partners.

In the past year, we responded to two local outbreaks—monitoring over 200 exposed workers, testing 66 individuals, and reducing infections from 14 cases to zero through rapid response, improved systems, and clear, accessible communication.

Emergency PreparednessEMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
We help communities prepare for emergencies like extreme weather, wildfires, and public health threats. This includes alert systems like CodeRED, community education, and coordination with partners for timely response.

Community Health Improvement PlanCommunity Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)

CHIP is a community-driven plan that guides how we address local health priorities. It focuses on key areas like food insecurity, clean drinking water, mental health, housing, and access to care.

Family Health
WIC (WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN)
WIC provides healthy food benefits, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals for pregnant people, infants, and young children. The program supports healthy growth and development during critical early years.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS (CYSHCN)
We support children with chronic conditions or developmental needs by helping families navigate care, connect to services, and reduce barriers. Services are available at no cost to families.

ORAL HEALTH
We improve access to dental care for children, especially those on Apple Health, through screenings, fluoride treatments, and provider referrals. Early prevention supports lifelong oral health.

HEALTHY AGING
We connect older adults to resources that support safety, independence, and overall well-being. Programs focus on chronic disease prevention, community support, and aging safely at home.
