Heat Exhaustion

Signs and symptoms

  • Dizziness
  • Thirst
  • Heavy sweating
  • Nausea
  • Weakness

Act quickly

  • Move to a cooler area.
  • Loosen clothing.
  • Sip cool water.
  • Seek medical help if symptoms do not improve.

Heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke.

Heat Stroke

Signs and symptoms

  • Confusion
  • Dizziness
  • Loss of consciousness

Call 911 immediately

  • Move the person to a cooler area.
  • Loosen clothing and remove extra layers.
  • Cool the person with water or ice.

Heat stroke can cause death or permanent disability without emergency treatment.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay informed.
