LATEST UPDATE: FREE HIV RAPID TESTING FOR CLIENTS

Benton-Franklin Health District (BFHD) is accepting appointments to start administering free HIV Rapid Tests to local clients who are considered at high risk for HIV. The CDC considers high-risk behavior: having more than one sexual partner, sharing any needles or syringes, and having sex with someone who is diagnosed with HIV or has been diagnosed with or treated for another Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).

Those at high risk can call the BFHD front desk to set up an appointment (509-460-4200). Appointments are 30 minutes each at the BFHD Clinic in Kennewick (7102 W. Okanogan Place, Kennewick, WA 99336). Our goal is to administer all our 100 HIV Rapid Tests before 2023.

To help the testing process run smoothly, BFHD staff recommends that participants be well-hydrated and keep their hands warm for the finger stick test.

Testing is confidential, and clients have access to counselors who can discuss ways to reduce the risks of HIV. Bilingual staff is available to assist in Spanish.
